Don't have a certain date but probably late 1942 or early 1943. This is a picture, popular at the time, where the studio touched up the picture manually.
A really general idea where Menard Texas is located for the uninitiated. This is especially useful to extraterrestials that are in search of Menard. Sort of a guide to the galaxy.
Now this map show Menard in relation to the rest of the United States. Ok, we are closing in, getting closer at every turn. You can orient yourself as to where Menard is relative to the balance of the contiguous states. If you care.
And this map shows Menard in relation to Texas. OK, now we are getting down to serious stuff. We are talking about Texas here for goodness sake. When you are talking about anything relative to Texas you are talking on a whole higher plain.
And this map shows Menard in relation to the local region. Once you get here you are pretty much home free.

Note the dog under the door. The dog was given to me by Dan McClain "Never Shead", a more or less homeless hermit that lived south of town. We lived at the Tipton place at this time. The dog's name is forgotten but it was run over and killed shortly after this picture was taken.
There was a book written about 'Never Shead' back in the 80's by one of the locals. There were many interesting storied about 'Never Shead'.

Picture was taken on Mr EE Scoggins 50th wedding anniversary. The car is Mr. Scoggin's and it was 26 years old at the time. I think the car is a 1918 or 1919 Dodge. Feel free to correct me.
