In these albums I present individual elements of nature generally without a setting to put them into context. The photos are of a specimen of flower, a pattern, an animal, a bird, a plant, an insect etc. More or less how you would view them in a nature guide. But not quiet a steril I hope.
Color
Color is one of the first traits that catches our eye about any subject in nature. Whether bright or subdued, it strongly characterizes the subject.

Details and closeups of feathers of various birds mostly from the National Zoo. Feathers have been a very successful evolutionary adaptation.
